May Happenings with the Hales

Wow, it's already June!!!!  May was a quick and crazy month.  Lots of good and lots of emotional stuff, too.

Here's a quick catch up of our last month . . .

Beginning of the month, Mike headed out to San Francisco with his job while the boys and I hung out back in Holly Springs.  That was followed up by mother's day weekend where I taught a class at Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve and Mike took the boys to Fayetteville so I could have some free time.  I went to see Soul Surfer, which is a great movie if you are looking for something to watch.

The next week, I headed with the boys to the coast to visit with Papa Witt and the Melby zoo and to teach a craft class at Grandma's Toy Box.  We came back and the craziness began.

The 3rd week of May was VERY emotional.  First, the great thing of that week was celebrating Liam's first birthday-wow!!!  The next day was not so fun.  Graeme has not progressed with his communication skills so we are trying to figure out what kind of help he may need and how we can help our big fella.  The same day we did the assessment test for Graeme, we had Liam's one year check up and he has an inguinal hernia and will have to have outpatient surgery to fix later in June.

After all the emotion cleared away, the next week was much better.  My friend Lee came up to take me out for the day and Mike got off work to be with the kids to make it happen.  Lee and I went to the NC Museum of Art and then checked out the mall and we capped off the day with dinner at Cheesecake Factory.  We started with dessert first!

Then, this past Saturday (which was my actual birthday) we partied it up with all our immediate family for Liam's first birthday.  It was a wonderful day.

To end the month, Mike and I are starting a couch to 5k workout . . . yeah, we are crazy.  Not so much for starting to run, but to choose to do it when it is soooooo very hot outside.  We have almost finished the first week!!

Looking forward to some great adventures in June!

Oh and Liam is officially walking everywhere now!!!
